Custom Sunglasses in Four Shapes
Rectangular, hexagon, rectangle and oval — in matte black, grey, silver and brown, all engraved the same way and all shipped in the same hard case. The Classic is in stock now; the three plated styles are between production runs, so use the notify option on their pages if one of those is the shape you want.
How to Customize Your Sunglasses
Made to order in our own workshop — and still on their way to you within two days.
-
1. Choose your shape and size
The Classic comes in Medium, which fits most faces, and XL for wider ones. If you already own a pair that sits comfortably, match to that — sunglasses are far more forgiving than a ring, and the frame has enough flex to settle in over the first week.
-
2. Add the name or initials
Type what you want etched and choose a font. You see a preview before you pay. The engraving sits on the temple arm, so it faces you when you put them on and stays discreet to everyone else — which is the point of sunglasses with a name on them rather than a logo across them.
-
3. Engraved and dispatched in 24–48 hrs
We laser-etch the letters into the metal in our own workshop — cut in, not printed on, so nothing rubs off against a shirt pocket. Free shipping across India, Cash on Delivery available, and every pair arrives with its hard case and cleaning cloth.
Engraving is included in the price. Customized sunglasses are non-returnable, so check your spelling on the preview screen.
Customized Sunglasses, Engraved With Your Name
Customized sunglasses are ordinary sunglasses with one thing added: your name, cut into the frame. Our Classic is laser-etched with a name or initials on the temple arm — cut into the metal rather than printed on top of it, so it does not wear away against a shirt pocket or a car dashboard. That is the whole difference between custom sunglasses and a printed novelty pair, and it is the difference you notice in year two.
The Classic is built from black-plated stainless steel with a screwless frame. That second detail matters more than it sounds. The tiny screw at the hinge is the first thing to loosen on a cheap pair, and once it goes the arm never sits straight again. A screwless build has nothing there to loosen.
Why Custom Sunglasses Beat Off-the-Shelf
Sunglasses are the accessory people lose most often and replace most casually. Putting a name on a pair changes how they get treated — and, practically, it turns a pair left on a restaurant table into a pair that comes back to you. Off-the-shelf frames do none of that, and at this price they are not better made; most sunglasses under ₹2,000 are plated brass with a hinge screw, which is exactly the combination that fails.
Choosing Between Medium and XL
The Classic comes in two sizes where most custom sunglasses come in one. Medium fits most faces. XL is for wider ones — if standard frames leave marks at your temples or feel like they are gripping, that is the size to take. Sunglasses are forgiving in a way rings are not, and metal frames settle into the shape of your face over the first week of wear, so getting within a size is enough.
What to Engrave on Custom Sunglasses
A name or initials works best, and for a practical reason as much as an aesthetic one. Keep it short: the temple arm is a narrow engraving area, so a first name or two or three initials sits cleanly where a full name has to shrink to fit. The product page shows the limit as you type, and you see a preview before you pay — worth reading twice, because customized sunglasses cannot be returned.
Customized Sunglasses for Men and Women
Every frame we make is unisex. The Classic in Medium suits most faces of either gender; XL exists for wider faces rather than for men specifically. If you are buying sunglasses with a name as a gift and do not know the recipient's face well, Medium is the safer choice — it is the size most people take.
Custom Sunglasses as a Gift
Engraved sunglasses solve the gifting problem that jewellery sometimes creates: they carry no romantic weight, so they work for a brother, a colleague, a father or a friend without implying anything you did not intend. At ₹1,499 they land in the range where a gift reads as considered rather than obligatory, and they arrive in a hard case that makes wrapping unnecessary.
If you are buying a set, the same name can be etched on a car keychain, a bracelet or a watch — all engraved on the same machines, in the same font. For orders in quantity, our corporate gifting range is the place to start.
Looking After Engraved Sunglasses
Clean the lenses with a microfiber cloth and a proper lens solution, wiping in a circular motion. Do not use a paper towel or a shirt hem — both are abrasive enough to leave fine scratches that build up into haze. On the frame, avoid household cleaners, alcohol and solvents entirely; they attack the plating rather than the metal, and the damage is not reversible. Store them in the case that comes with them, and keep them out of a hot car, where heat is enough to warp a frame out of true.
Buying Customized Sunglasses in India
Every pair is engraved to order in our own workshop in India, which is how a made-to-order product still dispatches within 24 to 48 hours — faster than most custom sunglasses sold here, which are ordered in and personalised by a third party. Shipping is free across India, Cash on Delivery is available, and each pair ships with a hard case and a cleaning cloth as standard. The Classic holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from 54 verified buyers.
Customized Sunglasses — FAQs
What are customized sunglasses?
Customized sunglasses are sunglasses personalised for one wearer — most commonly by engraving a name or initials onto the temple arm of the frame. At Etchcraft Emporium the text is laser-etched into the metal rather than printed onto it, so it is cut into the surface and cannot rub off. Customisation is included in the price, and each pair is made to order.
Where can I buy custom sunglasses with my name in India?
We engrave and ship them from our own workshop in India. Order on this page, type the name you want etched, and we dispatch within 24 to 48 hours with free shipping anywhere in India. Cash on Delivery is available. The Classic is ₹1,499, reduced from ₹1,999.
Should I order Medium or XL?
Medium fits most faces and is the right choice unless you already know standard frames run small on you. Take XL if ordinary sunglasses leave pressure marks at your temples or feel tight across the front. The other styles in the range are one size fits all.
What makes the Classic different from the other styles?
Material and construction. The Classic is black-plated stainless steel with a screwless frame — there is no hinge screw to work loose, which is the usual first failure point on metal sunglasses. The Torra, Caspic and Bruney are plated metal with conventional hinges, in different shapes and finishes. All of them carry the same engraving and the same hard case.
What can I get engraved, and where does it go?
A name or initials, in your choice of fonts, laser-etched into the temple arm. It is cut into the metal rather than printed on, so it does not rub off. The arm is a narrow engraving area, so shorter text sits better — the product page shows the limit as you type and gives you a preview before you pay.
Can I return customized sunglasses?
No. Because each pair is engraved to order with your text, customized sunglasses are non-returnable. Please check the spelling on the preview screen before you pay — it is the one thing we cannot fix afterwards.
How should I clean them?
Use a microfiber cloth and a lens cleaning solution, wiping in a circular motion. Avoid paper towels and rough fabrics — they are abrasive enough to scratch lenses over time. For the frame, use only cleaners made for eyewear: household cleaners, alcohol and strong solvents will damage the plating.
How should I store them?
In the hard case they ship with, which prevents both scratches and the frame being sat on. Keep them out of direct sunlight and hot places — a closed car in summer gets hot enough to warp a frame and damage the lenses.
What comes in the box?
One pair of engraved sunglasses, our signature hard case, and a cleaning cloth. Everything ships in a premium compact box, so no separate gift wrapping is needed.
Why are some styles unavailable?
The plated styles are made in batches and are currently between production runs. The Classic is in stock and dispatches within 24 to 48 hours. If one of the other shapes is the one you want, use the notify option on its product page and we will email you when that batch lands.
How long does delivery take?
We engrave and dispatch within 24 to 48 hours even though every pair is made to order. Delivery typically lands 4 to 7 days after that, anywhere in India. Shipping is free and Cash on Delivery is available.
