How Customised Jewellery Is Made Here
Nothing on this page exists before you order it. Every piece is engraved after the fact — and still leaves within two days.
-
1. Choose a design and a finish
307 designs across bracelets, kadas, pendants, lockets, chains and rings — each in 22 carat gold plating or a silver steel finish, over the same grade 316L base.
-
2. Add what makes it yours, and preview it
A name, initials, a date, coordinates, a signature, a photograph, or a complete mantra. Pick a font, see it rendered on the piece before you pay, and change it as many times as you like.
-
3. Engraved and dispatched in 24–48 hrs
We laser-etch it at our own workshop in Delhi and pack it gift-ready. Free shipping across India, Cash on Delivery available, and a 6-month anti-fade warranty on the gold plating.
Engraving is included in the price. There is no personalisation charge on anything in this collection.
Engraved or Printed: Why It Decides How Long Your Piece Lasts
Most personalised jewellery sold online is printed or pad-stamped, because it is quicker and cheaper to make. It looks identical in a product photo. The difference only shows up months later, on your wrist — so it is worth knowing which one you are buying.
| Compare | Laser Engraved Every piece on this page | Printed or Stamped How most personalisation is done |
|---|---|---|
| How it is applied | A laser cuts the lettering into the metal | Ink or film pressed onto the surface |
| How it feels | You can catch a fingernail on the letters | Smooth — the surface is unbroken |
| After a year of daily wear | Unchanged. There is nothing on top to come off | Edges soften, then letters start to break up |
| Sweat, water, perfume | No effect on the engraving itself | The single biggest cause of fading |
| What it can carry | Names, dates, signatures, photographs, full mantras | Short text and simple logos |
| Usual base metal | Grade 316L stainless steel | Commonly plated brass or mixed alloy |
| How it is produced | One piece at a time, after you order | Batched, and far cheaper to run |
Customised Jewellery, Engraved to Order
Everything on this page is made after you have decided what goes on it. Customised jewellery here means one specific thing — laser engraving, where the lettering is cut into surgical-grade 316L stainless steel rather than printed onto it. Whether you spell it customised or customized, personalised or personalized, the process is identical: choose a design, enter your text, preview it on the piece, and our workshop in Delhi engraves it within 24 to 48 hours.
Engraving is included in the price on every one of the 307 designs. There is no personalisation surcharge anywhere in this collection.
What Can Actually Be Engraved
Most people arrive thinking personalisation means a name, and it is worth knowing how much further it goes.
Photographs are etched line by line into the steel — a face, a pet, a signature in someone's own handwriting. Complete devotional texts fit on our Shakti Kadas: the full Hanuman Chalisa, the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, the Ganesh Stotram, the Durga Chalisa, engraved around the band at a size you can still read. Dates, coordinates and initials suit the smaller bars and plates. And a car keychain can carry your actual number plate, set in the Indian format with the IND mark.
The practical limit is the surface area of the piece, not the machine. The product page shows the character limit for that design as you type.
Customised or Personalised — Is There a Difference?
In everyday use, no. Both describe jewellery made specific to one person, and Indian shoppers use the two words interchangeably. If you want to be precise: personalisation usually means adding something of yours to an existing design, while customisation can extend to altering the design itself. On this page you are doing the first — choosing from 307 designs and deciding what is engraved on the one you pick.
What matters far more than the word is the method. Engraved lettering outlives printed lettering by years, and the difference is invisible until it isn't.
Personalised Jewellery for Women
The women's range runs from delicate to deliberate. Name pendants and necklaces are the most-bought category — 69 designs, each shipping on a matching chain rather than as a bare charm. Alongside them sit bracelets for women in gold, silver and rose gold, engraved rings, and earrings.
A name pendant is the most-gifted piece we make, and the reason is simple arithmetic: her own name is the one thing on a jewellery counter that could not already be in her drawer.
Personalised Jewellery for Men
The men's range is built around daily wear rather than occasions. Bracelets and kadas lead it — adjustable, rust-proof, and the least conspicuous way into wearing jewellery at all. Then lockets that hold a photograph, cuban and boa chains, signet rings, and engraved watches.
Grade 316L steel matters more here than anywhere else on the site, because these are pieces that go on and never come off: it does not rust in the monsoon, does not tarnish, and does not leave a green mark on the skin.
Engraved Jewellery as a Gift
Personalised jewellery solves the problem that makes gifting difficult — that anything generic, they may already own a version of. An engraved piece cannot be re-gifted, cannot be returned to a shelf, and cannot be mistaken for anyone else's. It is why this is our busiest category around birthdays, anniversaries, Raksha Bandhan and Valentine's Day.
One piece of advice worth taking: names, initials and dates age well because they stay true. Inside jokes and lyrics age at the speed of the phase that produced them — and this is metal, so there is no editing it afterwards. Couple bracelets are the exception worth making, because two pieces engraved as a pair say something a single object cannot.
Custom Jewellery for Corporate Gifting
We take bulk orders for teams, events and client gifting — engraved jewellery and accessories with volume pricing and a named contact rather than a support queue. Lead times stay short because engraving is what the workshop does all day. Our corporate gifting page has the details and a request form.
Why Buy Customised Jewellery from Etchcraft Emporium
We engrave in our own workshop rather than outsourcing it, which is how a made-to-order piece still dispatches in 24 to 48 hours. Shipping is free across India, Cash on Delivery is available on every order, and each piece arrives gift-boxed. Across the collection we hold a 4.9 out of 5 rating from more than 2,800 verified buyers.
Customised Jewellery — FAQs
What is the difference between customised and personalised jewellery?
In practice they mean the same thing — jewellery made specific to one person — and Indian shoppers use both spellings interchangeably. Strictly, personalisation means adding something of yours to an existing design, while customisation can extend to changing the design itself. Everything on this page is the first: you choose from 307 designs and decide what gets engraved on it.
What can I get engraved on my jewellery?
Names, initials, dates, coordinates, signatures, zodiac signs, photographs, car number plates, and complete mantras such as the Hanuman Chalisa. The limit is the surface area of the piece rather than the machine — each product page shows the character limit for that design as you type.
Is engraving actually better than printed personalisation?
For anything you intend to wear daily, yes. Printed and pad-stamped lettering sits on top of the metal, so it wears at the same rate you wear the piece — fastest on the things you never take off. Engraved lettering is a cut in the surface, so there is nothing to rub away. The two look identical in a product photo and quite different after a year.
Can I get a photograph engraved on jewellery?
Yes. Upload the image on the product page and we etch it line by line into the metal — it works on pendants, lockets and keychains. High-contrast photos with a clear subject reproduce best; very busy backgrounds lose detail at pendant size.
Can I preview my customised jewellery before it ships?
Yes — the engraving renders live on the product page as you type, in your chosen font, so you see exactly what you are buying before you pay. You can change it as many times as you like before ordering.
Will the gold plating on customised jewellery fade?
Every gold finish is 22 carat plating over surgical-grade 316L stainless steel, covered by a no-questions-asked 6-month anti-fade replacement warranty. Plating wears from friction and chemicals rather than time, so put the piece on after perfume and take it off before a swimming pool. If it ever does wear through, stainless steel shows underneath — not a green base metal.
Will steel jewellery irritate my skin or turn it green?
No. Green marks and irritation come from copper and nickel alloys reacting with sweat. Grade 316L stainless steel — the alloy used for surgical implants — contains neither in a reactive form, which makes it safe for daily wear, safe in the shower, and suitable for most people with metal sensitivities.
Do you take bulk or corporate orders for custom jewellery?
Yes. We handle team, event and client gifting with volume pricing and a named contact. Lead times stay short because engraving is what the workshop does all day. The corporate gifting page has the request form.
How long does delivery take, and is COD available?
Customised pieces are engraved and dispatched within 24 to 48 hours, with delivery typically 3 to 7 days after that depending on location. Cash on Delivery and free shipping are available across India.
